Chur (1612-19) goldgulden Fr-196
This specimen was lot 3308 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €1,100 (about US$1,421 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"CHUR Bistum. Johann V. Flugi von Aspermont, 1601-1627. Goldgulden o. J. mit Titel von Matthias. GOLD. R Kl. Zainende, sehr schön. (bishopric of Chur, Johann V. Flugi von Aspermont, 1601-1627, undated gold gulden in the name of Matthias. Scarce, clipped, very fine.)"
The SCWC lists this undated type for 1601, which seems improbable as Mathias did not ascend the imperial throne until 1612 and ruled until 1619. The coin is rare in any case.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 3.5 g, 0.986 fine gold; this specimen 3,03 g.
