This specimen was lot 1136 in Goldberg sale 128 (Los Angeles, June 2022), where it sold for $2,040. The catalog description[1] noted, "China-People's Republic. 500 Yuan, 2015. Weight 1 Ounce. Panda. NGC graded First Strike MS-70." The platinum and palladium issues were abandoned after 2005, leaving only gold and silver. The one ounce panda was raised from 100 yuan to 500 yuan in 2000 and reduced in weight from 31.1 g to 30 g in 2016. The SCWC has not updated its listings of pandas since 2012.
