This specimen was lot 2175 in Goldberg sale 110 (Los Angeles, June 2019), where it sold for $1,020. The catalog description[1] noted, "China. Silver Kilo 300 Yuan, 2008., Weight 32.115 ounces. For the Beijing 2008 Olympics. Featuring dragon boat racing and horse racing. In original wood case. Choice Brilliant Proof." The Chinese government has, since the mid 1980's, produced a mind boggling array of bullion related collectibles. In addition to this Olympic commemorative, this enormous format was used for KM 1435, 1479, 1513, 1568, 1579, 1617, 1634, 1849, 1897, 1950, 1808, 2006, 2043, 2069 and probably others.

Recorded mintage: 20,008.

Specification: 1000 g, 0.999 fine silver, 100 mm diameter, 32.117 ounces ASW.
