This specimen was part of lot 51443 in Stack's Bowers Hong Kong auction (Hong Kong, April 2021), which sold for $20,400. The catalog description[1] noted,

"CHINA. Bronze Age Artifacts Gold Proof Set (4 Pieces), 1981. All NGC Certified. KM-PS8. Mintage: 1,000 sets. A nicely preserved set, this always in demand popular Bronze age issues all exhibit hard flashy mirrored fields in stark contrast to the frosted cameo devices offering a pleasing appearance, all are free of tone, haze or fog. 1) 800 Yuan. Elephant/Shang dynasty. NGC PF 70 ULTRA CAMEO. 2) 400 Yuan. Rhinoceros/Han dynasty. Fr-10; KM-48. NGC PF 70 ULTRA CAMEO. 3) 200 Yuan. Leopard/Han dynasty. Fr-11; KM-47. NGC PF 70 ULTRA CAMEO. 4) 200 Yuan. Winged Beast (Dragon)/Qin dynasty. Fr-12; KM-46. NGC PF 69 ULTRA CAMEO."

This type, which was included in a set of four commemoratives (KM 46, KM 47, KM 48, KM 49), is among the first NCLT's issued by the regime.
