This type was struck for circulation in Chile 1870-77 along with a half and one centavo. It was converted to copper in 1878 (KM 147a) and struck in that form until 1894.
Recorded mintage: 461,000 including an 1873/2 overdate.
Specification: 7 g, copper-nickel, 25 mm diameter, plain edge.
