This copper-nickel centavo was minted in Santiago, Chile, in 1870-77. It was converted to copper in 1878 (KM 146a) and struck in that form until 1898. The type is not rare but most survivors are in poor condition.

Recorded mintage: 1,687,000.

Specification: copper-nickel, plain edge.
