Chile 1872-So peso

This is a peso minted in Santiago, Chile, in 1872. It is a common date of a common type struck 1868-91 but nice examples are always worth a premium. The first specimen was lot 22364 in Stack's Bowers 2018 NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHILE. Peso, 1872-So. NGC MS-63. Sharply struck with lovely iridescent tone and strong underlying luster. Great eye appeal. From the Alex Siegel Collection."
Recorded mintage: 795,000 including 1872/0 and 1871.
Specification: 25 g, 0.900 fine silver, .723 troy oz ASW, reeded edge, 37 mm diameter.
