This specimen was lot 70384 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2018), where it sold for $600. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHILE. 10 Pesos, 1868-So. PCGS AU-55 Secure Holder. Fr-45; KM-145. First year of type. Sharply struck, lustrous and attractive." This specimen was one of a series struck 1867-92 in Santiago, Chile. Two earlier types exist (KM 123 and KM 131), with slightly different designs for the arms and the standing Liberty. The SCWC does not give this date a premium.

Recorded mintage: 54,000.

Specification: 15.253 g, 0.900 fine gold, .441 troy oz AGW.
