This specimen was lot 128 in Sedwick sale 12 (Winter Park, FL, October 2012), where it sold for $1,770. The catalog description[1] noted, "Santiago, Chile, Ferdinand VII (bust of Charles IV), 1816FJ, very rare. Low mintage of just 408 coins, attractively red-toned XF." This type was struck at Santiago 1808-17 in limited numbers. Tho priced low in the SCWC, it is much rarer than the accompanying eight escudos.
