This specimen was lot 23411 in Heritage sale 3020 (Long Beach, September 2012), where it sold for $1,351.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Carlos IIII gold 8 Escudos 1793-DA, XF Details NGC mount removed, flashy luster in the legends." This type was struck 1791-1808 and is reasonably available. Note the use of Charles III's bust and the name of Charles IV.
Recorded mintage: 34,000.
