Ponterio sale 165, lot 21140

Chihli (or Zhili) was a province originally incorporating the present-day capital city of Beijing. The word ‘Zhihli’ translates to ‘centrally ruled’, in other words, the region was under the direct administration of the Emperor rather than functioning as a normal province. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. Chihli (Pei Yang). 10 Cash, CD (1906). NGC MS-61 RB."

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: copper.

Catalog reference: Y-10c; CCC-315; Duan-1110.
