This specimen was lot 23394 in Heritage sale 3020 (Long Beach, September 2012), where it sold for $1,292.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "George V Proof 10 Cents 1927, PF64 NGC, deep mirror surfaces with a heavily frosted bust. The Proofs of Ceylon are among the rarest of all the British Colonial countries. From The Ted Reams Collection." This type is listed for 1919-28 and is generally common. The prior type (KM 104) of 1911-17 was 0.800 fine silver. Ceylon attained its independence in 1948 after the British left India and is now known as Sri Lanka.

Recorded mintage: 1,500,000 plus a few proofs.
