Steve Album sale 55, lot 3534

This specimen was lot 3534 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $420. The catalog description[1] noted, "CEYLON: George V, 1910-1936, AR 50 cents, 1914, nice luster, key date, NGC graded MS64, ex The 1914 Collection. Tied for finest graded at NGC and PCGS." Ceylon attained her independence in 1948 after the British left India and is now known as Sri Lanka. This type was struck 1913-14 and 1917 in London. The superseding type was only 0.550 fine.

Recorded mintage: 200,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 5.83 g, 0.800 fine silver, 23.6 mm diameter.
