Ceylon 1910 5 cents
This specimen was lot 76355 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2025), where it sold for $85. The catalog description[1] noted, "CEYLON. 5 Cents, 1910. London Mint. Edward VII. PCGS MS-64." This type was struck 1909-10 and superseded a copper coin struck for queen Victoria (KM 93). Both are common dates. This module was used again in 1912, 1920 and 1926 (KM 108) then converted to nickel-brass in 1942. While the 25 cents matched the quarter rupee of India, the five cents corresponded to no Indian coin. Ceylon, famous for tea, attained its independence in 1948 after the British left India and is now known as Sri Lanka.
