This specimen was lot 73361 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. 25 Cents, 2011. Ottawa Mint. Elizabeth II. NGC PROOF-70 Ultra Cameo. A beautiful proof issue to honor the Canadian cougar, this pill sized issue offers exquisite detail on the frosted devices and entrancing mirrored fields." The Royal Canadian Mint issued many different 25 cent pieces in 2011, including KM 1079, 1080, 1081, 1082, 1083, 1084, 1110, 1113, 1114, 1115, 1116, 1148, 1168, 1169, 1170, 1172, 1192, 1193 and KM 493. Most were the nickel plated steel format used for circulation but this one was struck in gold.
