This specimen was lot 70511 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. Cent, 1955. Ottawa Mint. NGC AU Details--Cleaned. No Shoulder Fold (Strap) variety. A RARE and always hotly-collected type, this example does exhibit some light handling and noted cleaning, but is nevertheless a great opportunity for the variety." This type, struck at Ottawa 1953-64, is common in all grades. Midway thru the year 1953, the dies were modified to strengthen the folds of the queen's dress, creating "shoulder fold" and "no shoulder fold" varieties for all the denominations from cent to dollar. In 1954 and again in 1955, obverse dies with no shoulder fold were erroneously used to strike cents, creating rare varieties for those dates. The regular "with shoulder fold" for 1955 has little collector value.

Recorded mintage: 546,403,193.
