This specimen was lot 23455 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $1,997.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "George V 25 Cents 1917, MS66 PCGS Belzberg, incredible mint luster with boldly struck details, a wonderful coin in all respects with stunning eye appeal. Very scarce and desirable in this lofty grade. From The Nikita Collection." The type was struck in sterling silver 1912-19 and in 0.800 fine silver 1920-36. This date is readily available up thru Extremely Fine but slightly scarce in choice condition.

Recorded mintage: 3,365,644.

Specification: 5.83 g, 0.925 fine silver, .173 troy oz ASW, reeded edge.
