This specimen was lot 24095 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $3,055. The catalog description[1] noted, "George V 5 Cents 1916, MS67 NGC, a superb example with aged silvery-gray patina and full underlying mint luster, fully original and very rare in this elite certified grade. Tied for the finest known." Canada issued silver five cent pieces 1858-1921. In 1920, the coin was debased from .925 to 0.800 fine, then in 1921 it was converted to a nickel piece very similar to the U. S. five cent coin. This date is common up thru Extremely Fine.

Recorded mintage: 2,481,675.

Specification: 1.16 g, 0.925 fine silver, reeded edge.
