This specimen was lot 39053 in Stack's Bowers Winter sale (Baltimore, November 2015), where it sold for $1,057.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. 25 Cents, 1912. ICCS MS-64. Elusive at this lofty grade and a condition rarity as such. Sharply struck with needle point details and mark-free fields." This type was struck 1911-36 throughout George V's reign in three subtypes; the first (KM 18) with the obverse legend "GEORGIVS V REX ET IND IMP", the second (KM 24) with "DEI GRA" added, and the third (KM 24a), struck in 0.800 fine silver. This date is slightly better.
