This specimen was lot 354 in Ponterio sale 182 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $763.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. 50 Cents, 1909. NGC AU-50. Dark toning." This type is notoriously difficult to find in nice condition despite being minted in respectable numbers 1902-10. This date is scarce above Fine.
