This specimen was lot 30720 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), where it sold for $1,080. The catalog description[1] noted, "Edward VII 'Large Crown' 25 Cents 1906 MS62 PCGS, Ottawa mint. Large crown variety. A frosty offering displaying strong detail and commendable eye appeal for the assigned grade." This type was struck 1902-1910 at the London and Heaton mints. All the dates are rare in high grade.
Recorded mintage: 1,237,843, including the rare small crown variety.
Specification: 5.81 g, 0.925 fine silver, .173 troy oz ASW, reeded edge.
