This specimen was lot 30198 in Heritage sale 3035 (Long Beach, September 2014), where it sold for $998.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Edward VII 50 Cents 1906 MS61 NGC. An attractive example with minimal distractions and lovely silvery-gray surfaces alight with original luster. Exceedingly scarce in high grade." This type is notoriously difficult to find in nice condition despite being minted in respectable numbers 1902-10. This date is scarce above Very Fine.
