Canada 1896 10 cents

from the Stack's Bowers 2018 Collector's Choice sale, lot 70313

This specimen was lot 70313 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2018), where it sold for $552. The catalog description^[1] noted, "CANADA. 10 Cents, 1896. PCGS MS-63 Secure Holder. Obverse 6. Solid for the grade. Well struck, attractive and lustrous satiny surfaces with just a hint tone. A lovely example with a nice cartwheel effect." The type was struck in 1858 and 1870-1901.

Recorded mintage: 650,000, a common date.

Specification: 2.32 g, 0.925 fine silver, .069 troy oz ASW, 18 mm diameter, reeded edge.
