This specimen is a common date of a type struck in London and Birmingham for Canada 1858 and 1870-1901. This specimen was lot 22111 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it sold for $176.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. 5 Cents, 1893. NGC MS-62. Toned."
Recorded mintage: 1,700,000.
Specification: 1.16 grams, 0.925 fine silver, reeded edge.
