This specimen was lot 40464 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $4,406. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. 10 Cents, 1893. PCGS VF-35 Secure Holder. Round top '3'. Very scarce." For the 1893 ten cent pieces, the "flat top 3" is scarce, the "round top 3" is rare, being the key to the Victorian dimes.

Recorded mintage: 500,000 all varieties.

Specification: 2.32 g, 0.925 fine silver, .069 troy oz ASW, reeded edge.
