This specimen was lot 23393 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $1,762.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Victoria 5 Cents 1870 Narrow Rims, MS64 ICCS, meticulously sharp design features with subtle silvery-gray toning, a superb and fully original coin. From The Nikita Collection." This type was struck at Heaton and London 1858-1901. Flat Rim and Wire Rim varieties exist for this date with little difference in price.

Recorded mintage: 2,800,000 (all varieties).

Specification: 1.16 g, 0.925 fine silver, .034 troy oz ASW, reeded edge.
