This specimen was lot 1213 in Steve Album Auction 52 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $1,320. The catalog description[1] noted, "BURMA: Union of Burma, 25 pyas, 1952, a superb reflective proof example! PCGS graded Proof 65." This type was struck 1952-56 and 1959-65. All dates are common but the proofs are rare. It was part of the first issue of decimal coinage for the country; 100 pyas = one kyat (in Indian equivalents, 100 paisa = one rupee). Some were struck in Berlin and some in London but we don't know which mint made whch date. The country was renamed Myanmar in 1989.
