This specimen was lot 1350 in Stephen Album sale 41 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2021), where it sold for $1,440. The catalog description[1] noted, "BURMA: kyat, 1952, NGC graded PF64 CAM, RR." This kyat was minted for Burma 1952-53, 1955, 1962 and 1965. The years 1956 and 1962 were struck only in proof and are rare; the other dates are very common in all grades. It was part of the first issue of decimal coinage for the country; 100 pyas = one kyat (in Indian equivalents, 100 paisa = one rupee). The country was renamed Myanmar in 1989.

Recorded mintage: 2,500,000 + 100 proofs.
