This specimen was lot 1496 in Künker Auction 425 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €2,050 (about US$2,903 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHE MÜNZEN UND MEDAILLEN · BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, FÜRSTENTUM Karl I., 1735-1780. Dukat 1739, Braunschweig. GOLD. Leicht gewellt, min. justiert, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, Charles I, 1735-80, ducat of 1739, Brunswick mint. Slightly wavy, minor adjustment marks, very fine to extremely fine.)"
The duke issued this ducat 1737-42; it is the most common ducat from this locale but still scarce.
