Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel 1703 24 mariengroschen
This specimen was lot 74470 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. 24 Mariengroschen (2/3 Taler), 1703. Zellerfeld Mint. Rudolph August & Anton Ulrich. PCGS AU-55. A well-struck specimen with only minimal wear at the highest points. The overall impression is enhanced by the subtle peripheral toning of gold and hints of blue. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type was struck 1685-1704 along with KM 615, which has a leaping stallion reverse. The two brothers ruled together until Rudolph's death in 1704.
