This specimen was lot 55494 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. 24 Mariengroschen, 1690. Zellerfeld Mint. Rudolph August & Anton Ulrich. Extremely Fine Details -- Cleaned. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." Rudolf August was the older brother and inherited the title on the death of August II in 1666. Two different gulden were struck in 1690: KM 559, shown here, was struck 1685-1704; and KM 586, with a leaping stallion reverse, struck 1690-93, and slightly scarcer.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver.

Catalog reference: KM-559; Welter-2079.
