This specimen was lot 41263 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $576. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. Taler, 1645-HS. Zellerfeld Mint. August "the Younger". PCGS AU-53. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type of 1639-48 is not listed as rare. The photo in the SCWC shows Dav-6347, not this coin. Numerous "wild man" thalers exist from this state.
