This specimen was lot 77213 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2025), where it sold for $408. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. 2 Mariengroschen, 1631. Friedrich Ulrich. PCGS MS-64. From the G. L. Hermann Collection." This type was struck 1621-35 and is the first issue of this denomination, which was 1/18 of a thaler. Later, four, six, twelve and 24 mariengroschen would be added. It has a low catalog value but this is the first one we have posted.
