This specimen was lot 489 in Stack's Coin Galleries sale (New York, October 2010), where it sold for $1150. The catalog description[1] noted,

"GERMAN STATES. BRUNSWICK-LUNEBURG-CALENBURG. Christian Ludwig, 1641-1648, 1665. Taler, 1656 LW. 12-fold Arms with five crests. Rv. White Horse leaping l., SINCERE ET CONSTANTER. Glorious broad planchet, flash under red-gold and pearl toning. Scarce in such high grade. MS-61 (NGC)."

Christian Ludwig was duke in Calenberg 1641-48 and in Celle 1648-65. His younger brother Georg Wilhelm was duke in Calenberg 1648-65 and in Celle 1665-1705. The last brother, Ernst August, was duke in Calenberg 1679-98 and elector of Hannover 1692-98. Ernst August's son George inherited Calenberg and Hannover in 1698, Celle in 1705 and the throne of Great Britain in 1714. This type is listed under Brunswick-Luneburg-Celle, not -Calenberg, and is recorded for 1649-65, the entire reign of duke Christian Ludwig.
