This specimen was lot 2520 in Steve Album Auction 52 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $84. The catalog description^[1] noted, "BRITTANY: Francis II, 1458-1488, BI blanc a la targe, Rennes, cross // coat of arms, pleasing F-VF, R." A very similar blanc à la targe was struck at the Rennes mint (Roberts-6142). Francis II left behind a daughter Anne, who was forcibly married to the king of France, incorporating the duchy into the royal domain.
