This specimen was lot 22187 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $258.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRITISH WEST AFRICA. 1/2 Penny, 1947-KN. PCGS SP-65 Secure Holder. A well made example with loads of luster and virtually no tone." This type of 1937-47 is generally common and this is not a scarce date but specimens are not recorded in the SCWC. This is a product of the King's Norton mint; the Heaton mint produced an additional 15,218,000.

Specification: 5.3 g, copper-nickel, 25.9 mm diameter.
