This specimen was lot 23317 in Heritage sale 3020 (Long Beach, September 2012), where it sold for $4,406.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "George V 50 Cents 1919, MS65 PCGS, lightly toned with superb frosty surfaces. Rarely seen in this superior quality. From The Ted Reams Collection." This type is listed for 1911 and 1919 only, both scarce dates. The next issue of fifty cent pieces occurred in 1954. British Honduras is today Belize.
Recorded mintage: 40,000 plus a few proofs.
Specification: 11.62 g, 0.925 fine silver (slightly heavier than a florin).
