This specimen was lot 32848 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $723.60. The catalog description[1] noted, "Bremen. Free City Proof 36 Grote (1/2 Taler) 1864 PR65 Cameo PCGS. A splendidly perfect Gem of the type full of bright white-silvery color and certainly the finest certified example at PCGS." This type was struck 1859 (m. 50,000) and 1864 and is the final issue of the denomination. The SCWC notes that 36 grote equalled half a thaler.

Recorded mintage: 100,000 (no mention of proofs in the SCWC).

Specification: 8.77 g, 0.986 fine silver, 29.7 mm diameter, lettered edge.
