Bremen 1863 thaler Dav-626
This specimen was lot 1349 in Sincona sale 18 (Zürich, May 2014), where it sold for CHF 140 (about US$184 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Taler 1863. 50 Jahre Befreiung Deutschlands. Vorzüglich. (Germany, city of Bremen, thaler of 1863, fiftieth anniversary of the liberation of Germany, extremely fine.)"
This is the third-to-last issue of the independent free city of Bremen and commemorated the fiftieth anniversary of the liberation of Germany from Napoleonic domination. The next large silver coin from Bremen was a thaler of 1865 (Dav-628).
