This specimen was lot 663 in Stack's Bowers ANA auction (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $6,756.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Bremen. Ducat, 1746. NGC MS-67. An incredible example with full satiny luster. Finest certified, second highest is an MS-63." This rare type is mentioned for 1745-46, the 1745 having a mintage of 141. Bremen, long a member of the Hanseatic League, is today still a major port on the North Sea.
