This type was struck in 1986-88. It represents the cruzado of 1986-89 (= 1,000 second cruzeiros = 1,000,000 first cruzeiros). Brazil endured currency reforms in 1942, 1967, 1986, 1989, 1990, 1993 and 1994. Wikipedia comments, "Combined with all previous currency changes in the country's history, this reform [of 1994] made the new real equal to 2.75 × 10¹⁸ (2.75 quintillion) of Brazil's original réis."
