This specimen was lot 23313 in Heritage sale 3012 (Boston, August 2010), where it sold for $1,610. The catalog description[1] noted, "Pedro I 160 Reis 1826-R, choice toned VF-XF, struck over an earlier coin, few tiny marks above the denomination. Rare type and date. From The Guariba Collection of Brazilian Coins." The 1824-R is the only other known date and it is also rare.

Recorded mintage: unknown but few.

Specification: 4.48 g, 0.917 fine silver, .132 troy oz ASW.
