This specimen was lot 23879 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $4,406.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Maria I gold 2000 Reis 1792, MS61 NGC. Large internal cuds in crown on the obverse. An attractive lustrous specimen. From The RLM Collection, Part II." The type was struck 1787, 1792 and 1793 without mintmark. It is the last of its denomination.
