This specimen was lot 29122 in Heritage sale 3037 (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $2,350. The catalog description[1] noted, "Jose I gold 6400 Reis 1755-B MS62 NGC, Bahia mint, A flashy and attractive coin, with substantial mint bloom and quite attractive surfaces for the designation. Scarce and desirable in this preservation." This type was struck 1751-77 and is among the more available colonial gold coins of Brazil.
