SB1021-70246r.jpg

This specimen was lot 70246 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRAZIL. 300 Reis, 1755-R. Rio de Janeiro Mint. Jose I. NGC VF-25. Emanating from the popular "Crowned J" series, with the "J" standing for the reigning King Jose, this wholesome specimen exhibits a fair amount of wear, but also remains without issue and with a gunmetal gray tone." Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 9.06 g, 0.917 fine silver, .267 troy oz ASW.

Catalog reference: KM-186.
