This specimen was lot 23202 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $1,175. The catalog description[1] noted, "João V gold 2000 Reis 1725-R, AU Details NGC, mount removed. No jewelry appearance. Sharp features and superior for this scarce type. From The RLM Collection." This type was struck at the Minas Gerais mint 1724-27 (KM 114) and at Bahia 1714-25 and at Rio 1723-26. This is the commonest of the three mints but is still scarce.

Specification: 5.37 g, 0.917 fine gold, .158 oz AGW.
