This specimen was lot 3512 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €950 (about US$1,281 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG IN FRANKEN, BRANDENBURG-BAYREUTH, Christian, 1603-1655. Dukat 1629 (Jahreszahl im Stempel aus 1628 geändert), Nürnberg. Slg. Grüber (Auktion Künker 267) 3447. GOLD. Gewellt, sehr schön. (margraviate of Brandenburg-Bayreuth, Christian, 1603-55, ducat of 1629/8, Nuremberg mint. Bent, very fine.)"
This type was struck 1609, 1628-32, and is reasonable for a gold issue of the seventeenth century.
