Brandenburg-Ansbach 1765-KK 1/4 thaler

from the Stack's Bowers 2018 Collector's Choice sale, lot 70538

This specimen was lot 70538 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description^[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brandenburg-Ansbach. 1/4 Taler, 1765-KK. Alexander (1757-91). NGC MS-61. Toned with underlying luster." This scarce one year type accompanied a thaler (Dav-1996) and a ducat (Fr-361).

Recorded mintage: 133,000.
