Kunker sale 293, lot 258

This specimen was lot 258 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €2,200 (about US$2,965 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG IN FRANKEN. Johann Friedrich, 1667-1686. 2/3 Taler 1679, Schwabach. Slg. Wilm. 908; Slg. Grüber (Auktion Künker 267) 4264. RR Attraktives Exemplar mit feiner Patina, kl. Schürfspur am Rand, fast vorzüglich. (margraviate of Brandenburg-Ansbach, John Frederick, 1667-86, two-thirds thaler of 1679, Schwabach mint. Rare, attractive example with fine toning. Rim bumps, about extremely fine.)"
