Brandenburg-Ansbach-Bayreuth 1799-B 6 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 1140 in Stephen Album sale 32 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2018), where it sold for $152.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRANDENBURG-ANSBACH-BAYREUTH: Friedrich Wilhelm III of Prussia, 1797-1805, AR 6 kreuzer, 1799-B, struck in Bayersdorf, PCGS graded MS64, ex Don Erickson Collection." In 1791, the margrave of Brandenburg-Ansbach and Brandenburg-Bayreuth sold his realm to the king of Prussia and retired to England as a hobby farmer. The king of Prussia issued a series of billon coins for his new acquisition in 1798-1800, including this six kreuzer and a one kreuzer (KM 6). The two provinces eventually passed to Bavaria in 1806 during Napoleon's mediatization.
